8. ANY OTHER BUSINESS

(a) Relationship with Access Class Association.
Skud 18 Class to have a separate account within the Access Class Association UK.  David Durston will discuss the setting up of this account with Ron Sawford.

(b) The help given to the Skud 18 UK class in view of the low water level at Rutland sailing club was discussed.  Debbie Blachford, manager of RYA Sailability, was instrumental in arranging for the Skuds to be brought to Oxford sailing club for the winter of 2010/11 to continue training.  Debbie has also arranged for RYA Sailability to pay the winter membership of Oxford SC fee on behalf of Alex Hovden, Graham Hall and David Durston.
Chairman to write a letter of thanks to Debbie Blachford.

(c) David Durston reported that Keith Harris had written a considerable number of letters looking for sponsorship for the Skud 18 Class in the UK.  No replies have been received to date.   The members thanked Keith for his efforts but agreed that fundraising for the Class as a whole was unlikely to be successful especially in the present financial climate.  In the coming year it was agreed that each individual should fundraise in line with their team requirements and sailing programme.

(d) RYA TRAVEL GRANTS
RYA Coach,  Matt, has frequently suggested that travel grants are available to Skud 18 sailors if they trail boats to away events.  Despite both Alex and Graham having trailed Skuds to Weymouth no offer of financial assistance has been forthcoming from the RYA.  Roger Smedley to write to Barry Edgington at the RYA to ask his advice on how travel grants are awarded or allocated which should give us a definitive answer.

There being no further business the meeting was closed.
