2010 Access Worlds Q&A

QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS (Q&A) as at 29 March 2010 Q1 (France & Netherlands). Can you provide a support power boat for the championships? A (by Chairman): This matter has been considered by the organising committee on 14 January and an advice document posted on the website. Those requiring support power boats will need to bring their own boats to Rutland. They must also complete an application form before 1 April. Q2 (Australia). Can I enter both the SKUD18 and Access 2-person classes? A (by PRO): The schedule of races is for all single person classes to be racing together & two person together. Each group will alternate so that if single person classes race in the morning, the two person classes will race in the afternoon & vice versa. We have scheduled racing this way so that a competitor can enter both a single person and two person event. In your situation, you can only enter the 303 two person OR the SKUD18. Q3 (Several). What meals are included in Entry Fee? A (by Admin): Each competitor will get 6 packed lunches, 1 Opening Ceremony Dinner, 1 BBQ Dinner and 1 Closing Ceremony Dinner. There is no refund if the competitor chooses not to have the meals. Helpers/carers/supporters can purchase these meals only if pre-booked and paid for; please see Regatta Fees and Administration Forms. Another form will be posted on the website for unattached helpers. The cost of 6 packed lunches is £30, BBQ is £10, and the Opening and Closing Ceremony dinners are £15 each. Q4 (France). Where can I camp with a camper van? A (by Admin): There is camping in a field by the club but it has only a water tap, no toilets, showers or electricity. It is necessary to go 400m to the Sailing Club for Toilets and Showers. See:- http://www.rutlandwatercampsite.co.uk/ . For a camping park with facilities, Wing Hall is recommended, 8Km from the sailing club:- http://www.winghall.co.uk/camping.html . If facilities for the disabled are important then the nearest place (15Km) is Rutland Caravan and camping:- http://www.rutlandcaravanandcamping.co.uk/ . For all of the above a reservation is recommended. Q5 (Netherlands). Can I bring a SKUD18 to the Sailing Club before the Championships. A (by Admin): See Newsletter No 4 dated 15 March. Any World Championship visitors wishing to use the facilities of the sailing club outside the period 3 to 14 June must contact the club manager, email: Manager@rutlandsc.co.uk or Tel: +44 (0) 1780 720292. Permission has been given for the Netherlands to bring one SKUD18 early and park it at the club. Q6 ( General). What meals should helpers and supporters order? A (by Admin): If wishing to attend the dinners and barbeque they should either be included on the “Regatta Fees” form of a competitor or complete a separate “Unattached Helpers” form. Helpers are advised that they should not normally request the “Packed Lunch” package. There will be a selection of hot and cold lunches available from the sailing club kitchen for those ashore. If helpers have already ordered packed lunches and now wish to cancel them, they should notify the Race Office as soon as possible and a refund will be arranged at registration.
